The Hangover Loves Squirrel Burritos
Ok,
not really. We were going to write about how we love squirrels but we found
this strange picture on the US Fish and Wildlife website, and well, it looks
like a squirrel Hot Pocket or something. Anyway, a couple weeks back we
went to the post office to get our mail and found that someone had left a giant
bag of acorns at the package tape-and-seal table near the back. After discussing
at length with another postal customer what should be done with the giant bag
of nuts, we decided that they might be best enjoyed by NYC's squirrel population.
We took a couple of handfuls and left the rest of the voluminous bag with the
other customer, whose intention was to bring them to Union Square Park and distribute
them there. "She must do this a lot'" we thought, since she proffered
squirrel feeding tips along with the acorns we shoved in our pockets and warned
us about getting ticketed by cops for tampering with wildlife. But at this point,
we're hoping our cops have other stuff they might want to be looking in to...so
anyway, here's our homage to squirrels. They're cute, they're furry, and they're
ever so charming when they balance themselves on the backs of park benches.
Yep, we love the little buggers, and we hope you do too! Vive le squirrel!
