Deschutes Brewery Jubelale
by F. Sot Fitzgerald
God love the people at Deschutes. I've been feeling down in the mouth of late. Maybe it's the whole daylight savings time thing, which brings darkness by 5 in the afternoon. or maybe I'm just grouchy because I'm growing old and portly. Whatever the source, I'm feeling better now. I tasted a few bottles of their autumnal Jubelale and boy was it great. Jubelae is a strong ale that is made from five different varieties of hops and caramel. The result is a rich bitter brew with a little sweetness to boot. It's 6.7% alcohol, so knock back a few of these on a chilly evening and you'll find yourself smiling and drifting off to bed. Bravo, and well worth an excellent rating (Rating ****).
