Well, that wasn't much of a hurricane, was it? Every year, I wait patiently as the tropical storms and hurricanes are named in alphabetical order: Ann, Bartholemew, Charlotte....

Well, when the hell is a Giovanna going to loom in the distance with all of her fury, causing billions of dollars in damage? When is she going to uproot trees and cause tidal waves, blowing away children and cows? They are really grasping for names here. Sure, I know my name is a bit rare, and not even American, but still? Each year, it continues D, E, and then the next one I hear about is a L. One day, that G is going to destroy the eastern seaboard. And by God, it better be a Giovanna.

We are so saddened (as is the rest of the world) by the passing of Johnny Cash. Yes, we knew the day was approaching, but it wasn't any easier to hear about, nonetheless. No one will ever have a voice like Cash, or be able to write beautiful, heartfelt songs about the working man like he did. At least we'll have the pleasure of listening to his records for a long, long time.
